2013 RAM 60th Anniversary of the Queen's Coronation 50c Silver Proof Cased Coin

More than a year after her accession in 1952, Queen Elizabeth II was crowned in Westminster Abbey. The Royal Australian Mint's commemorative 50c coin honours the 60th anniversary of that momentous event, which began one of the longest reigns in British history.

The coronation of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on 2 June 1953 captured the attention of the world in an unprecedented manner. In addition to the 8 251 guests in attendance, an international audience of over twenty million watched the coronation ceremony on television. For many it was the first television program they had ever seen. Essential elements of the modern coronation service can be traced back to the crowning of King Edgar at Bath in the tenth century, and has remained largely unchanged for 900 years. The coronation of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, a monarch who is cherished around the world, marked the commencement of a reign which has now spanned six decades.

2013 RAM Firstborn Baby of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge 50c Silver Coin

In celebration of the birth of Prince George Alexander Louis, born on Monday 22 July 2013 at 4.24 pm London time, the Royal Australian Mint will be releasing this beautifully designed coin in fine silver and cupro nickel.
'HRH Prince George Born 22.07.2013' appears under the initials of his parents, set in the latest branch of the Royal Family tree.
Ever since the Palace announced in late 2012 that The Duchess of Cambridge was pregnant, preparations have been made for the arrival of the new royal - all in front of the world's media and a never-ending line of eager onlookers.
Scores of websites have been devoted to the royal pregnancy; premium magazine space has been taken up; and social media has gone into melt-down every time a new detail has been revealed.
It has been 120 years since a sitting British monarch has been alive for the birth of a great-grandchild. Prince George of Cambridge now becomes third in line to the throne behind The Duke of Cambridge and his father after the sixteen countries of the Commonwealth this year voted to change the rules of succession and allow a female heir.

2013 $1 "C" Mintmark Silver Proof Coin - Bicentenary of the Holey Dollar & Dump

To commemorate 200 years of a nation's first official currency, the Royal Australian Mint's 2013 mintmark and privy mark coin program will feature a replica of the Holey Dollar and Dump as the basis of design.

The Holey Dollar and Dump were introduced to stamp out the corrupt rum trade and provide the first official currency for the fledgling colony of New South Wales. In 1812, Governor Lachlan Macquarie arranged for a special shipment of 40 000 Spanish dollars to arrive in Australia and set pardoned forger William Henshall to work fashioning the new currency.

Henshall was able to develop his own minting technology with the limited resources of the colony at the time and he marked his work by placing the initial "H" on some of the dies produced. Now rare and valuable, the original coins were in circulation between 1813 and 1829

2013 Australian Silver Kangaroo - Fine Silver Proof $1.00 Coin in Display Case

Having run for twenty years, the Royal Australian Mint's Kangaroo Series is one of the most enduring in Australian numismatic history. The Explorer's First Sightings theme celebrates George Stubbs' 1772 painting of a kangaroo.

When Joseph Banks returned to England after Captain Cook's first Pacific voyage in 1771, little did he know he was carrying what was to become an iconic representation of our great land. He brought with him a kangaroo specimen, and commissioned a painting of the intriguing animal by artist George Stubbs.

Stubbs' painting of the Kangaroo was the first by a non-indigenous artist. Engraved and published in the official account of the Endeavour's voyage, it embodies Europe's fascination with our native wildlife. The kangaroo has been synonymous with Australia ever since

2013 RAM BLACK CAVIAR 2 Coin Silver Proof Set - LIMITED MINTAGE ONLY 2500!!

BLACK Caviar, one of the most popular and successful horses in Australian racing history, has been retired after an unbeaten 25-race career. (The Australian - 17th April 2013)

Rarely in Australian sport has a champion captured the collective imagination of the entire nation. Rarer still has that champion been a horse. Not since Phar Lap has an Australian thoroughbred dominated the international racing scene so uncompromisingly - and with such grace. Few of those who witnessed her first win at Flemington in 2009 could have known just how special she would be; the thousands who turned out four years later to say goodbye all longed to see her race just once more. These coins commemorate the spirited mare's sterling undefeated 25 race record - and immortalises her, mid-gallop. Many will be racing to get a memento of this moment in history.
